“The Armor of God Prayer
Ephesians 6:11-18 “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Christians ought to take the devil and his devices seriously. Apostle Paul warned us many times of the tricks of the enemy. The devil manipulates, twists, tempts. He started with Eve in the garden of Eden, he tried to tempt Jesus and to this day he is after us. He comes often as an angel of light that is why we cannot afford to be complacent.
The scriptures give us much encouragement and shows us how to strenghten and to protect us like with prayer, fasting, fellowship, making a joyful sound unto the Lord or meditating on his Word day and night.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels not demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
Head covering for Christian women
Some say this is only cultural, some say this was only for the women in Corinth or it was for women in that time. Others say there is no mention of an extra covering but the verses always talk about the womens hair as a covering.
In 1 Corinthians 11 Verses 4-6
(4) Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered dishonoureth his head. (5) But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head (uncovered) dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. (6) For if the woman be not (covered), let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be (covered).
Some would say this command is given by Paul not by God but we know Paul was writting down what the Holy Spirit had given him. Apostle Paul did not write on his own authority.
A hundred years ago this was not even a subject of different opinions as the women was covered in church. Only when feminism was brought in this changed. But God never changes.
Modest Dress
Fashion has become shameless and to the world it is normal to dress half naked.
As a follower of Jesus Christ you are a stranger in a strange land. Being able to fit into what the world expects to be normal will not be possible.
Count the cost and follow Christ.
Hebrews 12:1
"Wherefore seeing we also compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."
