It was around nine in the evening, the weather was awful cold, wet and windy and as we drove out of the local supermarket parking lot we saw a man totally drunk wanting to get on his bike and ride away . Another man had tried to stop him and helped him cross load his shopping from his carrier bag to his rucksack , but the man was determent. My husband got out of our car and asked the man, who we now know as Nassal, where he lives and that we would be happy to drive him home. having put the bike in the back of the van and the Young man from the Ukraine seatbelted into the front passengers seat . He told us today (6th of January) is Christmas in his country and he was celebrating. He told us were he roughly wherehe  lived..it was a rather long way from where we were and it would have meant that he would have had to stumble and fall on some dark country lanes. In his state  he might  not have made it home in one piece in this dark, rainy evening. The gospel was given and we left him with a few tracts in his pocket, he kept asking us where had we come from. we pray that this friendly man comes to Jesus as soon as possible. All Glory to God.

Street Preacher in Reading

Today we met Andy, a street preacher in Reading, who carries with him a wonderful testimony of his own. He was able to tell us about the work, the Lord has been doing through him, now, during the Lockdown and how more individuals, who once would have rejected his information, are now searching for the Lord.

This is encouraging but as churches have closed thier doors people are seeking the Lord.

Today (21/12/2023)  we were out and about in Reading giving out gospel cards, rebuking idol worship  at this pagan time of year, when we met Andy again along with another female proudly displaying their street pastor fleece. the conversation hadnt gone far before we were offered a lollypop. we both refused the lollypop and said giving the gospel would be better. They both confirmed that they were not allowed to give the gospel as street pastors as it could have conflicted interest with the people they try to support. for as much value the testimony of Andy has his next statement seemed to negate it all he told us that when he is not in his street pastor uniform he does similar to what we do, which proves when he is in his street pastor garb he has a false front cowering to the beast. So many souls in Reading need the gospel and these people give a false impression of what a beliver in Christ is all about. and we stand by the last statement we made these false shepherds are feeding the public on sweet lollypops and girding their feet with flipflops, and loving them to hell, instead of shepherding them onto the narrow path and pastures green and eternal salvation.

2 Tim 4:2 states Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with long suffering and doctrine.

Today 13/07/2021

we met three more street preachers from Reading Minster (a hillsong sponcered church) under different circumstances. on arriving in Reading we always go past the church and today was no different. we saw a man who was sitting on a bench, deshevalled and slightly worse for wear, he had soiled himself and was not looking to good, there was two members of the local police establishment deciding what to do with the man, whos name is Steve. to cut a longe story short we went away and Katja got a new pair of joggers to give to Steve. arriving back at the bench Steve was awake so we engaged in conversation with him and we asked if we could pray with him, he eagerly responded yes. we prayed and he was thirsty so we gave him water (physical and spiritual), he became tired and decided he wanted to lay down again. at some point three elderly people stood behind us, quite intimidating, and said "hes ok he has been reported" we couldnt believe our ears. we asked them (all dressed in their display uniforms bearing the title street pastor) if it was an offence to talk to some one on a bench because he had been reported, and who had he been reported too. We really could not work out what there agenda was. but it didnt appear very christian like. The Reading minster is an all inclusive church which is loving every one to hell.

When we were visiting two sisters in  Christ ,who live in Wimbledon, we stopped off at Caesars well in the heart of Wimbledon common. Our approach was around the edge of the golf course and as we approached the well we could see a group of individuals doing what appeared to be relaxation after a yoga class. At the well were a couple and a lone women dressed in new age spiritual attire and spreading love. On arriving at the well Katja started conversation concerning how we had stepped out of the new age having been born again and the light shone bright as we came out of the dark. Katja asked the lady if she would accept a bible tract from us and she replied “send it from your heart to mine” (gobberldey gook talk of which is expected from the all loving embrace and accept everything new agers). The conversation moved around to the male from the couple, who claimed he had read the Bible two and a half times and was a Christian until he studied Christianity. It would appear from what he was saying, although he wouldn’t admit it, he had then found the new age. ( so out of the light into the dark) there was lots of “we shouldn’t judge “ and “where is the love” which really highlights why the world is spiralling out of control. But one thing he did say, and this is the point I want to focus on” was that Horus was the first jesus. According to those who deny the existence of Jesus, however, this description is of a mythological precursor to Christianity, the Egyptian God named Horus. Skeptics sometimes use ancient deities like Horus, Mithras or Osiris as examples of dying and rising precursors to Jesus. They claim the mythology of Jesus was simply borrowed from pre-existing examples such as these.

Of course if one would look closer it is so obvious that these mythological characters have no right to be on the same page as Jesus. And the devil was deceptive in the way he gave way to these deities to invent their own three persons as is evident in the writings of the feminine goddesses and sun worshipers quite happy to focus on the creation and not the creator. A lot was attributed to mother earth in the conversations.  When we look in the bible it was like acts 17:22-31 where Paul, on Mars Hill dispelled the similarities by giving supporting evidence and the reliability of eye witness accounts of those present with Jesus. And telling the deep thinkers of the time who the real God is and how they had labelled him as unknown. So in conclusion Jesus is not simply a retelling of the Horus myth: Horus worship is now a dead religion. Christ is still alive and the belief in him continues flourish and why because the records of  Christ are reliable. The man who gave us his name but I will not give it space as it must be his rebirth name not his name he was given at birth. You could tell he was getting angry because as he walked past us, as we had moved to sit on a bench up the track, he was trying to keep his argument going.

In Joshua 24:20 the Lord clearly says:

“If ye forsake the Lord and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt and consume you, after that he hath done you good”

We pray for this man to return to his first love.

Today when we went to Reading we met a young man named Roy, aged 33, he had an amazing life story to tell. His mother, who was Irish, had been forced to flee from Ireland at a very young age, or face going into a convent, and enter into England at a time when most establishments banned, in his terms “no blacks Irish or dogs " so his mom was a very resilient lady. Sadly, both Roy’s parents were now dead and he had seen his life plummet into a cycle of foster homes prisons, drugs and basically lost years of his life. We met Roy near the Oxford Road and the junction of Waylan Street in a group of others waiting to go into the drop-in centre. My aim was to get the gospel to those around after a short time Roy came to our side and ask if he could ask a question concerning what we had been talking about. we offered him some socks, as is our aim (gospel and socks) he said he would love to have a pair. He followed us to our van where we spoke for a while. Roy showed he had a wonderful heart and a grasp for the gospel he told us a wonderful dream he had received when he was five years old. The dream was about him sleeping and hearing music coming from somewhere, he said he loved music, he followed the sound and it was coming from a lamp and he went towards the lamp and has he reached out for the light a hand come from the side and grabbed him out of the darkness. Roy told us how he had people who knew him sometimes reminded him of things he had said or done for them and it really warmed his heart and made him feel wanted and of some value. we prayed with Roy and the holy spirit guided the words which brought tears to Roy’s eyes.

I didn’t really think a lot about the dream Roy had told us until the evening I was guided to a sermon about the apostle Paul on a ship wreak written in the book of Acts 28:1-16. It tells of how Paul was bitten by a viper and just shook of the beast and lived. This was a good interpretation of Roy’s dream had he only been able to grow from the message he had received and turned to Christ. but like Roy it’s never too late for any of us to find Christ now
